Dan and Lucy’s winning streak continued at our home track this afternoon when Horse For Higher broke her maiden at her second race start.
“Roxy”, as she’s known around the stables, has been somewhat of a late bloomer, but thankfully her breeder/owner Greg Galt, has been in no rush with her.
Dan has trained several other horses for Greg with mediocre results, “Greg’s been an owner with me for a few years now, and he’s such a patient, understanding man to deal with, so I’m quite thrilled to have a promising horse for him”.
“She’s rising four years old, and she’s still doing a couple of things wrong, but today’s efforts show that we’re going to have some fun with her”.
Lucy rides her track work and has ridden her in trials so knows her well and her claim is a bonus. She knew what she had underneath her and timed her ride to perfection.
