Affair To Remember Flies Home

Sep 23, 2020

Affair To Remember has put herself back on the radar of the “experts” after a breath taking win at Flemington this afternoon.

Her first two runs this preparation have been okay in good company, and it seems the same old story of fantastic sectionals and not much luck – keeping in mind she hasn’t reached her ideal distance yet.

So today, it was back to a Benchmark race at Flemington on a Wednesday. Another wide barrier didn’t favour us, but what did was a drop in grade, a rise in distance and the long Flemington straight to give our girl ample time to produce that explosive finish.

Michael Poy’s ride was patient and confident, they took the gap the moment it presented and they stormed home to run down the leaders in their last few strides.

Our “Bubbles” is a serious contender this Spring, she is an exciting mare to have in our stable and we are so thankful to David Peacock and Lime Green Brigade for racing her with us.

A big shout out to our team who do an amazing job with this mare who is rather temperamental and unpredictable at times!
