Roll With It’s courageous win

Jun 17, 2010

After a long spell, recovering from a fractured pedal bone, Roll With It came back to the winner's stall yesterday. Taking out the Red Lion Hotel Country Showcase over 1200m didn't happen with drama though – Roll With It dipped right down onto his nose at the beginning, missing the start substantially. His jockey, Nikita Berriman, did a wonderful job to cart him back into the race, finding the best part of the track and grabbing the lead over the last few metres.

Dan said "Having such a long time off from racing, I expected he would take a run or two to get back into the swing of things, and although the result on paper didn't read well, I was really pleased with his last run here a couple of weeks ago. He likes a soft track and generally runs well at home so I was confident he'd run well – just not confident enough to have a piece of his odds at 50/1!. He showed a lot of promise early days, so I was glad that his owners have perserverred with him and today were rewarded."
