It was only his 10th start, but it felt like an eternity for Say Good Night to win his Maiden – probably because he had placed on five occasions prior!
We call him “Denis” around the stables, in honour of his breeder and owner, South Australian based Denis Roberts. Denis has raced horses with us on and off over many years so it’s a big thrill to get some success for a loyal supporter.
He’s a lovely, big strong fellow by Red Arrow, who had some issues early, but with the expert care from Dan and the team he is staying sound and rewarding us all for our patience.
