Anyone who follows our runners will agree that our loveable Antagonist has more than a few tricks up his sleeve.
So after not turning up mentally over 1500m at Ballarat last week, Dan put his horse psychologist hat on again and came up with the idea to try to outsmart our big grey goofball, by backing him up and stepping him up to 2000m.
“He’s very fit, very sound so it may just suprise him that the winning post is a lot further away than he anticipates this time” was Dan’s plan to managing owner April Matthews.
And don’t we like it, when plans come to fruition! Noel Callow gave him a terrific ride, and it was great to see this horse fight to the line.
Congratulations to all involved with Antagonist!
