Looking at the photo, you can see we’re not exaggerating as to why we call her “The Big Girl”!
Sew It Seams has been running in some pretty hot races in town recently, aiming for the very attractive Super Vobis dollars, but with her not quite up to that standard (yet) it was a case of having to re-group and drop in back in grade to get that maiden out the way.
Dan had the choice of Geelong on Friday over 1200m – again with the vobis dollars signs looking very attractive, or Pakenham over 1400m. Pakenham won the toss, being the bigger, flatter track of the two and taking on advice of previous jockeys comments that she is looking for 1400m. Pakenham was the right choice.
She settled back in the field, but once she straightened she showed a terrific turn of foot storming home over her rivals.
Thanks to jockey Nick Hall for a lovely ride and congratulations to her owners. The Brown Family who our followers all know through our brave British General bred, race and lease this lovely big filly to Colin Holloway, Ellen Garland, Narelle Stocker, the All Ages and Juanita Syndicates and Dan.
