When the jockeys took strike action against the whipping rules, Dan had to go back and re-think plans for Theraceison. He always had in mind the 0-72 country showcase race for him over 1600m if he'd won, so confident his horse wasn't impositioned for missing the run, he went for the challenge of running him yesterday. He dropped back in weight, the conditions suited and another well timed ride from Dean Yendall saw Theraceison take out the race in very good fashion. It was great for Bob Sandlant and Voi Williams, who are on the Ballarat Turf Club committee, to have their horse win at home and hopefully his other part-owners Rodney and Louise McKinnon, who are on holidays in Queensland, can be there for his next win.
