There was a sigh of relief all round yesterday when promising mare, Arties Dreamwinner broke her maiden status at Warracknabeal.
Like many before and more to come, she has shown promise on the training track but injury has forced everyone to be patient.
She was entered for the recently abandoned Caulfield meeting in a strong race, where both owner and trainer thought she would run much better than her odds. And as we know, there’s never a sure thing in racing, but they were confident she would simply win the Warracknabeal race.
Pefectly ridden by Linda Meech, who is fresh from a break, it was a convincing win and a big thrill for Dan to train his first winner for John Richards, a big contributor to racing and a very nice bloke!
