The first race at Geelong yesterday saw Aurelius Hero the second favourite behind a very fancied Group placed and spring bound, Air Apparent.
Our fellow, affectionately known as Warrick, in his previous 8 starts, had only been out of the placings once, but even Dan was of the opinion that something would need to go wrong with the favourite for him to win.
But with him finally drawing a decent barrier and a great ride from Jye McNeil, who had every confidence in our fellow, we really got to see what this young gelding can do.
Dan is of the belief Aurelius Hero will continue to improve as he matures so it appears his wonderful group of owners might be in store for many more enjoyable days at the track!
