Easily labelled the most frustrating horse in the stables at present, Gorilla's Mist finally won his maiden at Avoca.
Gorilla's is a beautiful looking horse, has a fantastic nature and always works like an above average galloper, but come race day he has always managed to encounter bad luck.
A brave decision by Dan to give Gorilla's one more preparation and keep him at shorter distances may just be paying off.
Yesterday wasn't an easy maiden for Avoca standard and he fought off challenges down the straight, winning by the barest margin.
Congratulations to his terriffic (large) group of owners and here hoping it's the beginning of the future for "The Big Ape"!!
