Yesterday was a terrific day for Dan at Geelong races with him welcoming both of his runners to the winners stall. Our Kobi Jade was first off the rank in a 0-62 2200m handicap- Leading jockey, Luke Nolen who was aboard the mare for the second time, dictated the race and guided her perfectly to victory. Dan aims to step her up to city grade races gradually for her owners and breeders, Graham and Desley Wheeler.
Later in the day was Ripleys chance to show he isn't a "one hit wonder", after four weeks between races due to a foot abcsess, Dan was confident this fellow was going just as good, if not better than when he won at Donald. It was a harder task for him in the open age handicap and he carried 59 kilograms, but he did a terrific job to hold off his opponents.
Today sees runners at Morphettville and Murtoa. Sunday Psalm will race at Morphettville and should improve from the experience of his first-up run. And Dan will take five runners to Murtoa with them all expected to go well – watch out for speedy little filly Jazzily, having her first start. Annie's a Gem ran a gutsy second place last start so deserves to break her maiden status and Theraceison will wear blinkers again so don't be suprised to see him back to old form.
