It was a busy day for our team yesterday at Ballarat with five runners. Other than our “old timer” in Beer Garden making a return to racing over a short distance and new addition Hidden Away, who we are getting to know, we believed the other runners were all good chances.
As those involved in racing know, everything needs to go right to get a win, and thankfully for us it was one of those days with Aurelius Hero and Elite Tiger.
It was even more exciting to have so many owners in attendance to cheer home their runners.
Aurelius Hero and Elite Tiger actually made their race debut’s back on the 28th December 2014, against each other at Warrnambool over 1000m. Aurelius Tiger ran second that day and Elite Tiger ran 4th. Since then Aurelius Hero has gone on to win five races and earned prize money of $153,000 and Elite Tiger has won six races with prize money of $124,000.
And the hard work of our apprentice, Lucinda Doodt, is really paying off these days. When she finishes at our stables she heads up the road to ride with a good mentor in Michelle Payne. Hopefully many other stables will see what a fine young rider Lucy is turning into and will also provide her the opportunities.
Congratulations to the owners who won yesterday and hopefully we are celebrating with the others soon!
