GORILLA'S MIST could well prove to be one of the bargain buys coming out of the Easter Sales in recent years.
The cheapest yearling in his year – at just $38000 – GORILLA'S is giving every indication that he is capable of taking out a major staying race during his three-year-old season.
Personally selected by Dan, GORILLA's took the eye as a beautifully conformed son of ELVSTROEM.
In fact, as recently as last week, ELVSTROEM's trainer – TONY VASIL – remarked that GORILLA'S MIST is one of the best-looking sons of that stallion which he has seen.
This weekend, we are throwing GORILLA'S in the deep end, and taking on a big field of spring hopefuls in the GROUP 3 NORMAN ROBINSON STAKES at CAULFIELD.
This might seem to be a daunting task for GORILLA'S, but in his brief career to date, he has shown that all he wants to do is STAY.
He has been nominated for the VRC DERBY, and hopefully tomorrow's race will show that he is worthy of taking his place in that feature.
What a great thrill that would be for his large and vocal team of owners !!
