One of the spring’s unluckiest horses gets a final chance to make up for two missed opportunities when filly Affair To Remember tackles the colts in Saturday’s Group 2 Sandown Guineas.
The daughter of Toronado was hopelessly blocked for a run in the Listed Jim Moloney Stakes at Caulfield two starts ago and was again victim of traffic at Flemington on Oaks day when she got clear late and rattled home late for third.

“She should have got it probably at Caulfield that day but we’ll chip away and see if she can get some.”
O’Sullivan has some big plans for the filly in the autumn.
“She’s settled down and going like a stayer,” he said. “She’ll go out now and we’ve earmarked the Adelaide Oaks for her. She’ll get 2000 (metres) no problem and she has got a bit of mental and physical maturity to come as well.”
