2yo gelding Melike has safely made the trip across Bass Strait and is ready to take his place in the Shaw Magic Millions 2yo Classic over 1200m at Launceston.
By USA sire Helike out of the Bianconi mare Parterre, Melike joined Dan's stable last year after being purchased at last years sales for $16,000. He has progressed well enough since then to warrant a crack at the $50,000 race.
Dan has put a lot of effort into getting him to this point, even travelling to Cranbourne for a trial at the end of 2011. Despite the fact that the ability of his opposition is virtually unknown, Dan is confident that Melike is ready to run a strong race and expects him to be competitive.
