After a brave second with Our Kobi Jade on Wednesday at Geelong, it was back on the same stretch of road again yesterday with Ripleys. This time the result was one better, taking out the Jacobs Creek 0-68 Showcase with good authority. Ripleys previous start at Caulfield was a big test for him, with Dan pretty much throwing him in the deep end for a chance of some city Super Vobis money before the end of the season, and although on paper he wasn't up to it, he was forced to race back in the field and didn't have a lot of luck down the straight. Yesterday, from barrier three, his jockey Steve Arnold was able to have him hold a handy spot before showing his nice turn of foot over the final stages. Ripleys has now won three races this preparation and Dan will continue to place him in similar type of races.
