Our big friendly giant had us bursting with pride yet again when he proved far too tough and far too good for his rivals over the hurdles at Ballarat this afternoon.
Ask anyone who works in a racing stable and most of them will tell you how much they love their jumping horses, how much time, effort and care goes into them and how these horses would not be racing over the hurdles if they don’t thrive when introduced to jumping.
Our big “Poppy” proved that his win at Warrnambool over the Carnival was no fluke and with this being his first season of jumps racing, he looks to be a serious contender for future jumping seasons.
Other than a slight oopsie at the last hurdle, he jumped like a gazelle under the care of Lee Horner, who gave him a fantastic ride.
We are so thankful to David Peacock and his racing partners for allowing us to race this fellow and a big thanks to my team who do an amazing job every day.
