The decision to give The Patchie Kid one extra run, on the back-up, paid off today when he notched up his third career win at Swan Hill over 2100m.

Dan ummmed and aarghed and then ummmed and arrghed some more whether to spell him after his dull result at Hamilton. But the horse was in such good order and the final field came up very attractive, so it’s lucky he made the right call to back him up!
