After plenty of 2nd placings over the past few weeks, Dan breathed a sigh of relief when Cashmore Lady and Beer Garden broke through for him at Warrnambool yesterday. Cashmore Lady was having her eleventh start and after placing on five occassions was very due for her first win. Her managing owner Joan Hallett and connections have been very loyal and patient toward the four year old mare and I'm sure they got good use of their Cashmore Lady stubby holders last night! Beer Garden, who raced in some pretty tough races earlier this year, returned to work as good as ever this preparation but has recently had some minor set-backs so he did a terrific job to step up from the mile and overcome his rivals on the day. Beer Garden will most likely run at Geelong on the 2nd December, so good luck to Neil Heaslip and his excitable connections for then!
