Roxy joins the New Years Eve Party
Horse For Higher didn’t let her stable mate, Song Brocade, come home with all the accolades by making our last runner for 2020 a winner.
Roxy, as she is called around home, was stepping up to 1700m for her third up run and went in nicely placed and well prepared giving the team plenty of confidence for this assignment.
Michael Poy took the reins and had her nicely placed sitting just off the lead until the final stages when they pounced, proving too strong and fit for the rest of the field.
“We think there’s better wins with this mare” Dan remarked. “Her owner and breeder, Greg has been extremely patient allowing her to fully mature and I think he’ll be rewarded with a win in town eventually”.
Congratulations Greg! We are always thrilled to get a win for you!
Suprise from Veneficus

It wasn't Moonee Valley, but a win is a win and that's exactly what Jungle Fighter did yesterday at St Arnaud. Stepping up to his ideal distance and down in grade was the perfect combination Dan was looking for to give the rarely disappointing gelding by...
The General is Back
British General returned to the track in fine fashion yesterday winning in a nail biter and turning his tally into four wins from six starts. He drew the widest gate in what was a very strong showcase race but his natural speed found him crossing over and in a handy...

Ripleys makes it 31 wins for season
A great way to finish the 2011/2012 racing season at Geelong yesterday, with Ripleys winning the final race of the day. One of our stable stalwarts for previous seasons, Ripleys prior preparation lacked the lustre he usually shows. But yesterday he proved he is...
Go And Get Rich – The first step
Go And Get Rich has a name we all aspire to, and yesterday took his first step to do that, by winning his maiden at Werribee. Dan headed off thinking he'd run well, but was quite confident he wouldn't be able to beat the favourite in the race. On this...
Beer Garden Notches Up Another!
Anybody who thinks horse's don't like to jump should really make the trip to Ballarat one morning, just to see how wrong they are. Beer Garden notched up his third win this preparation at Geelong yesterday, and a lot of this success is contributed to...

Beer Garden has earnt himself another fan yesterday after a tough and convincing win at Geelong yesterday. His jockey, Glen Boss, stated in his interview after the race that he has a soft spot for our fellow, a kind horse and a lovely ride who responded brilliantly...
Inaura’s Purple Patch
The Geelong Synthetic track isn't everyone's cup of tea, but it's certainly becoming popular with Dan and his horse's who don't like the wet. After a solid effort in town last start, Inaura headed back to Geelong yesterday to take on the...
