Antagonist Wins 3 In A Row

Jul 18, 2017

Not many horses have three wins in a row on their resume, and if you told us this time last year that Antagonist was going to do it, we’d tell you to seek professional help.

Dan has always had belief in our big “Benny’s” ability and with him being sound and rather tough the trainer’s prediction was that he’ll be the kind of horse who will race successfully around the provincial circuit for many years. “I have had to stick up for this horse for a long time, and there have been many times where I’ve questioned myself, so it’s like a little reward for us all”.

Antagonist’s only win prior to this preparation was over a mile at Colac in December last year, and he has even placed over 2000m, so he will most likely be looking for further soon, but in the meantime we’ll try to find suitable races on synthetic tracks, which he seems to appreciate very much.

Ridden by Noel Callow, Antagonist made it look very easy and the jockey’s post race interview was very entertaining!

Congratulations again to his wonderful ownership group.
