The stables biggest pet, Aurelius Hero, kicked off the new year in terrific fashion, winning the Thornton Family Peter Blank Sprint at Terang this afternoon.
A slight change in tactics was in order after showing signs of being a little bit too relaxed in the early stages of his most recent runs. “He’s such a relaxed horse, and he obviously has got in the habit of switching off early, but lately he’s been switching right off. So I told Jack to ensure he races a little closer to the speed today” Dan reported. “The small field played a big part, but Jack’s ride was perfect and I’m happy to put him on a winner finally”.
Congratulations to his ownership group who have now notched up six wins with this fellow. Dan’s father Brian was proud to accept the trophy their behalf and our team is so proud of this absolute gentleman of a horse!
