She’s no super star, but Valhalla Princess is one of those horses who is such a pleasure to have around the stables.
Professional in all she does, sound and such a trier on the race track, this girl was very due for a win when she stepped out at Werribee on Saturday.
Like her big brother, Beer Garden, Val isn’t effective on a wet track so when the weather forecast was for storms on Saturday afternoon we were hoping like crazy it would hold off until after her race. Thankfully the racing gods aligned with us and waited.
Carrying 65kg’s over 2600m was a big ask for our girl, but Lee Horner rode her perfectly allowing her plenty of time to run down the leader and score by a good two lengths.
Congratulations to her wonderful group of owners, some of whom have been racing with us for quite a few years now!
Hopefully winter hasn’t set in yet and we have some more opportunities to race her on firmer tracks before synthetic racing commences.
