O’Sullivan tips AFL star into a winner
Story by Ryan Reynolds of Racing.com
Sydney Swans star Tom Papley says the beers will be on him next time he sees trainer Dan O’Sullivan after a chance meeting led him into a winner.
Papley, who was driving to a wedding in Wagga, pulled up alongside O’Sullivan’s float near the Seymour exit when he asked if he had a winner for the day.
“Moral,” is what Papley says O’Sullivan told him.
“Celtic Glory, race four.”
The rest, as they say, is history, with Celtic Glory breaking her maiden at start 21.
“0/20 start maiden ballsy saying it’s a moral but it’s due,” Papley tweeted of his encounter before the race.
He followed up after the win: “Would love to know his Twitter handle if anyone has it. Give the great man a message and some beers.”
