Way Up High Way Too Tough
The team kicked off Geelong Cup Day with a win with Greg Galt’s six year old mare, Way Up High
Our stable apprentice jockey, Jaylah Kennedy, reported that they didn’t jump as well as usual, and when the pace was not ideal for our mare’s style of racing, Jaylah made the brave move to join the leader and make it a true staying test.
Our girls were the fittest and toughest over the 2400m, delivering this mare’s fifth career win for her proud owner and breeder!
Congratulations Greg and great ride Jaylah!

La Tesora’s a little Treasure
La Tesora delivered a big thrill for a big group of owners this afternoon at Ballarat. For many it was their first win as a racehorse owner and most connections are from either Ballarat or the region of Dan's home town of Terang. Her name means "The Treasure", and...

Countess Delta Cracks Her Maiden
After a string of placings, the regally named and looking Countess Delta finally broke through at Geelong yesterday. She has been racing very well and has always indicated that she will appreciate a longer trip, especially ridden quieter in the early stages. She...

Three out of Four Ain’t Bad
FIne Embers made it three wins from has past four starts yesterday at Ballarat. He was thrown in the deep end at Sandown in his previous outing, and wasn't disgraced so it was a suprise to see him start at 20/1 due to his drop back in grade. Dan even tipped him...

Jumping Crackerjak!
The statistics are little Captain Crackerjak runs in the top three placings 50% of the time, so when he put in two mediocre runs in a row it was a sign something needed to change.Dan and the team have tried making this fellow settle, which didn't work at all, and his...

City Win Added to Queuey’s Resume
This afternoon our "busy" little mare, Near Queue, notched up her first city win over 1700m at Sandown. After an impressive win at Bendigo the start prior, and some very good, but unlucky runs before that it was terrific to see her reap the rewards for her owners.The...

RIP Juggles
It is with very sad hearts that we had to make a very brave decision and kiss goodbye our dear little Juggles last night. Many of our owners, friends and family have got to know this little rascal over the past 12 years and appreciated what an instrumental part of our...

Queuey and Lucy make it a double
We were still smiling from Frankie's win, when little Near Queue charged home to make it a double for the day at Bendigo. It was no secret that this quirky little mare had been the victim of some back luck in town recently, and with our Lucy having a good record on...

Two In A Row for Fine Embers
He's now one of the old boys around the stables, and like a few special boys before him, he has found a new lease of life thanks to jumping!Even though he had to carry a whopping 63kg's he again won with conviction at Bendigo today over 2400m.We don't think you'll see...

Embers Still Burning
Great to have Fine Embers back in the winner's stall today. The seven year old, by Mount Nelson hadn't won since August 2016, but has been racing consistently in tougher class races lately.Affectionately known as Frankie around our stables, we've included jumping in...

Antagonist Back In The Good Books
Anyone who follows our runners will agree that our loveable Antagonist has more than a few tricks up his sleeve. So after not turning up mentally over 1500m at Ballarat last week, Dan put his horse psychologist hat on again and came up with the idea to try to...
